Our CAPRA-accredited Parks and Recreation department maintains more than 430 acres of parks throughout the city, including a 75-acre nature preserve nestled in the woods that contains the best urban hiking trail in the Dallas area.
Located in Grimes Park, DeSoto BMX Track is the number one BMX track in Texas and the first covered facility built for racing. Riders come from around the country to compete year-round at this lighted course. Massive berms and jumps on over 1,000 yards of hand-packed dirt make this a true national-quality track.
